abstract = "The present work introduces the development of a methodology for
zoning the fire risk to the watershed of Anhumas stream, located
between the municipalities of Anhembi, Bofete and Botucatu, both
located in the State of S{\~a}o Paulo. The Geographical
Information System was used for the preparation of the risk maps
relative to Altimetry, Slope, Terrain Display Face, Influence of
Roads, Use and Occupation of Land. The factors were integrated and
elaborated through a decisions-making technique called Analytic
Hierarchy Process (AHP), their respective weights were determined,
being 0.036 to Altimetry, 0.237 to Slope, 0.060 to Terrain Display
Face, 0.101 to Influence of Roads, and 0.566 to Use and Occupation
of Land. The overlap of the information generated the map of
zoning risk of forest fires in the watershed. The results indicate
the risk of fire Low in 5.69 %, Moderate in 15.34 %, High in 23.34
%, Very High in 45.73 %, and Extreme in 9.90 % of the total area
of the watershed. Risk classes High, Very High and Extreme
deserves greater attention, because if added together, they
represent more than 75 % of the total area of the watershed and
for such kind of classes are necessary planning and other
preventive practices of firefighting like fire hazard indexes.",
